Cookie Policy

Last Updated: March 19, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Vbg B.V. (“we”, “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on envarlok.site (the “Site”). It supplements our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle personal data more broadly.

1) What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device (computer, phone, tablet) when you visit a website. They can be “session” cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or “persistent” cookies (kept for a set period). Cookies can also be “first-party” (set by the site you visit) or “third-party” (set by another domain, typically a service provider).

In addition to cookies, we may use similar technologies such as pixel tags (small code snippets that record page views and conversion events) and limited server-side logging needed for security and reliability. Where these technologies store or access information on your device, we treat them under the same category rules as cookies.

2) Why we use cookies

The Site is an educational platform for deliberate calligraphy practice. Cookies help us (a) keep the Site functional and secure, (b) understand which pages and learning materials are used so we can improve them, and (c) measure marketing and advertising performance when you choose to allow it.

We do not use cookies to provide professional services, certifications, or regulated advice. Cookies are only used to operate and improve the Site and, if you opt in, to support analytics and advertising measurement.

3) Cookie categories we use

We group cookies into three categories. These categories match our consent banner and preference panel.

A) Essential cookies (always active)

Essential cookies are required for the Site to function. They support basic operations such as keeping a session, remembering your cookie consent choice, and protecting the Site from misuse. These cookies do not require consent under applicable rules because without them the Site cannot reliably operate.

B) Analytics cookies (optional)

Analytics cookies help us understand how the Site is used: which learning pages are read, how long visitors stay on a module overview, and where people navigate next. We use this information to improve clarity and reduce friction (for example, if a reference page is consistently abandoned at the same paragraph).

Analytics cookies are only set after you explicitly choose them in the cookie preferences panel. If enabled, we may use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) with IP anonymization and a 14-month data retention setting.

C) Marketing cookies (optional)

Marketing cookies are used to measure the performance of ads and to show relevant ads to people who have visited the Site. They can also help prevent showing repetitive ads and support conversion attribution (for example, understanding whether a visit resulted in a contact request).

Marketing cookies are only set after you explicitly choose them in the cookie preferences panel. If enabled, we may use tools such as Google Ads conversion tracking and the Meta Pixel. These tools can involve cookies and similar identifiers.

4) Cookie table

The table below lists cookies that may be used on the Site. Some third-party cookies only appear if you have enabled the related category in your preferences and if the corresponding provider is added by us later for measurement.

Name Purpose Category Type Retention
_site_session Site session continuity Essential First-party Session
cookie_consent Stores your consent choice Essential First-party 12 months
_ga GA4 user identifier Analytics Third-party 2 years
_ga_XXXXXXXXXX GA4 session state (10-character GA4 ID) Analytics Third-party 2 years
_gcl_au Google Ads conversion linker Marketing Third-party 90 days
_fbp Meta Pixel browser identifier Marketing Third-party 90 days
_fbc Meta Pixel click identifier Marketing Third-party 90 days

5) Third-party providers

If you enable optional categories, cookies and similar identifiers may be set by third-party providers. Providers commonly used for analytics and advertising measurement include:

We do not permit these providers to use Site data for their own independent commercial purposes. They process data under their own terms and, where applicable, as our service providers.

6) How to manage your preferences

You can manage cookie choices at any time using the “Manage cookie preferences” link in the footer. This re-opens the cookie banner and allows you to accept, reject, or fine-tune optional categories.

You can also control cookies through your browser settings (for example, blocking third-party cookies or clearing stored cookies). If you clear cookies, your consent choice may be removed and the banner will be shown again.

7) Changes to this Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in the Site, our tools, or legal requirements. If changes are material, we will provide a clear notice on the Site. The “Last Updated” date at the top of this page indicates when this policy was last revised.
